How to Customize a Canva Property Website Template

Whether you’ve just grabbed one of our pre-designed Canva property website templates or you’re curious how they work, this post will walk you through the basics. You’ll learn how to easily customize your template with your own listing photos, property details, and clickable links — and have a polished, mobile-friendly website ready to share in no time.

It’s a simple, professional way to market your listings online without the hassle of complicated website builders or hiring a designer. And the best part? Once your first site is set up, you can quickly duplicate it for future listings too.

What Is a Canva Property Website Template?

A Canva property website template is a one-page (or multi-page) website layout designed inside Canva’s free online platform. You can easily swap out text, images, colors, and links with your own content using Canva’s drag-and-drop editor — no coding, plugins, or complicated tools required.

Once it’s customized, you can publish your site directly through Canva for free and share the link with buyers via email, social media, or a QR code on flyers and signs.

Set Up Your Primary Template (Do This First)

This will be your base website template with your brand details already built in. Once it’s ready, you’ll duplicate it for each property you list.

Step 1: Open the Template

  • Click on the Canva template link you received upon purchase.

  • On the preview screen, click ‘Use Template for New Design’.

  • Canva will automatically create a copy in your account for you to customize.

Step 2: Customize Your Branding

This is where you make the template look like your brand — so every property website you create feels consistent and professional.

Update Your Fonts

  • Click on any text box you want to update.

  • In the toolbar at the top of the screen, you’ll see the font name displayed.

  • Click the font dropdown to open the font list.

  • Scroll or use the search bar to find your preferred font.

    • Canva Free users have access to a wide range of fonts.

    • Canva Pro users can unlock additional premium fonts.

  • Select your chosen font — the text will instantly update.

  • Repeat this process for all headings, subheadings, body text, and button labels to keep everything consistent.

💡 Pro Tip: If you have a Canva Brand Kit (Pro feature), your fonts will appear at the top of the list for quick selection.

Change Your Brand Colors

  • Click on any text box, shape, or button you want to recolor.

  • In the top toolbar, click the color tile (a small square showing the current color).

  • The color menu will appear:

    • Choose a color from the document colors.

    • Or click ‘+’ to open the color picker and enter your brand’s hex code (if you have one) for a perfect match.

  • Click your chosen color — the selected element will update immediately.

  • Repeat this process for:

    • Headings and text

    • Button backgrounds

    • Icon colors

💡 Pro Tip: Keep a simple 2-3 color palette for a clean, cohesive look.

Step 3: Contact Details

Update Contact Information

Update every placeholder with your:

  • Name, Title, Brokerage

  • Phone number, Email address, Website URL

  • Social media handles

💡 Pro Tip: If your template includes a spot for your photo or logo, click on the photo frame, go to ‘Uploads’, and drag your image into the frame.

Add Contact Links

Make your property website interactive by linking your contact information so buyers can reach out with one click. Here’s exactly how:

  1. Highlight/select any contact details and social icons you want to create a clickable link for.

  2. With the text or icon selected, click on the three dots that appear in the menu directly above the highlighted portion. A menu will open where you can click on the Link option (🔗).

  3. Paste your preferred URL.

    • Note - to create an email link you will need to follow this format mailto:youremail@domain.com

Add Resources

If you want to include any download options for viewers, such as a buyer’s guide that they can download, here’s how you do it:

  1. Highlight the text you want viewers to click on.

  2. With the text selected, click on the three dots that appear in the menu directly above the highlighted portion. A menu will open where you can click on the Link option (🔗).

  3. Paste your download link URL.

Step 4: Edit Page Names (Navigation)

In a Canva website, your navigation menu is automatically created based on your page names. This means you don’t need to add manual links for your navigation bar — just rename your pages, and Canva takes care of the rest.

How to Rename Pages

  1. At the bottom of your Canva editor, you’ll see thumbnails of each page.

  2. Click directly on the page name (like Page 1, Page 2, etc.).

  3. Type your new page name (for example: Home, Property Details, Gallery, Connect).

Once your pages are renamed, Canva will automatically update your site’s navigation menu with those names.

Example:
If you name your pages Home, Photos, and Contact, your website menu will display those as clickable navigation links.
